Job Description
Responsibilities
- Develop and maximise growth in Product Incubation pilot products and market
- Contribute to development of Product Incubation pilot products across current and new markets for Mukuru in Africa
- Drive pilot product sales to big business / new business development
- Create strategies to maximise the pilot product profits in sustainable way
- Carry out market analysis and monitoring of micro and macro influences
- Conduct competitor analysis as well as gap analysis
- Develop people, processes and the tech solutions for pilot product offerings
- Drive business development across the Mukuru network
- Identify opportunities to expand product and service offerings
- Ensure opportunities are strategically and legally viable
- Collaborate with in-country representatives with regards to projects and partnerships
- Make contacts in order to develop prospects and leads with various potential partners
- Negotiate with potential partners in order to obtain mutually beneficial signed contracts
- Effectively manage the relationships with current partners
- Actively engage with partners to ensure partner health improvement
- Ensure the retention of quality partnerships
- Grow the relationship by expanding the partner service offerings and partner Touches
- Identify ways to grow partner revenue (i.e. contract extension, partnership expansion)
- Identify ways to maximise profit with partners
- Manage concentration risk
- Provide support and assistance to the Head of Product Incubation
- Provide assistance to the Head of Product Incubation on required incubation projects
- Provide support and attend meetings when necessary
- Provide strategic input when required
- Maintain current knowledge of payments and financial innovation practices and activities in business corridors
- Manage own professional and self-development
Key Requirements
- Grade 12 /or equivalent (Essential)
- Degree in any business related field (Essential)
- 8 years’ experience in Business Development (Essential) In the remittance / FinTech industry (Desirable)
- Experience in negotiating with financial services partners (Desirable)
- Experience/exposure to working in African countries (Desirable)
- Knowledge of payments and remittances
- Knowledge of software development
- Knowledge of business to-business sales and proposal writing
- Knowledge of commercial agreements
- Knowledge of software capabilities
- Knowledge of operating license requirements
