Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities (Include but is not limited to):

  • Develop creative and engaging social media strategies for Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Tik Tok, Youtube, and LinkedIn (as well as any other social media platforms Mukuru decides to make use of)
  • Manage the day-to-day handling across all social media channels such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tik Tok, and YouTube, adapting content to suit different channels
  • Oversee, plan and schedule content across different platforms using a scheduling tool. This will be done in conjunction with Campaign Managers and planned Mukuru Campaigns
  • Brief engaging multimedia content across multiple platforms
  • Develop, launch and manage new competitions and campaigns that promote your organization and brand
  • Undertake audience research for all social media platforms
  • Support the Digital Support Team in managing and facilitating social media pages and profiles by creating standardized responses and timelines for responses (this person will not be required to do any actual community management though)
  • Monitor, track, analyze and report on organic performance on social media platforms using tools such as Google Analytics, Sproutsocial reports, Twitter analytics, and Facebook insights
  • Research and evaluate the latest trends and techniques in order to find new and better ways of measuring social media activity
  • Analyze competitor activity
  • Recommend improvements to increase performance
  • Set targets to increase brand awareness and increase customer engagement
  • Manage a budget for social media activities (from the Digital Marketing budget)
  • Educate other staff on the use of social media and promote its use within your company (in-house roles)
  • Encourage collaboration across teams and departments
  • Conducting social listening and sentiment to craft social media according to customers’ needs and business objectives
  • Wechat experience will be very beneficial

Key Requirements:

  • Grade 12 or Equivalent
  • 5 Years’ experience as a Social Media Manager
  • Qualification in Marketing/communications
  • Must be very experienced in Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, Twitter analytics, and Instagram Insights
  • Scheduling -and monitoring tools (Meltwater, Sproutsocial) as well team collaboration tool, Asana
  • Have experience managing people; this role will have 1 direct report
  • Wechat experience will be very beneficial
